Your Vision Is More Than Just A Number
Vision problems are often mis-diagnosed disabilities like ADD or ADHD. If you or a family member don’t require glasses or contacts to read but are still having trouble reading, there may be an underlying issue that should be examined further.
“Children often have visual issues that interfere with learning,” says Dr. Carl G. Hiller of the California Optometric Association, “Most of what we learn in the classroom occurs visually, we’re visual being and most of our brain is dedicated to vision.”
If your child takes a long time to get their homework done, has poor school performance, gets head aches or double vision, they may have an eye issue called convergence insufficiency. Below is a video from Dr. Carl G. Hiller that gives a great overview of this eye issue.
After watching the video if you feel you , your child may be suffering from these issue, Dr. Odineal is our vision therapy specialist that can help. She is a Board Certified in Vision Therapy treatment and diagnosis. She has been successfully treating these types of problems for over 20 years.
